Visiting Tour and Workshop held for Secondary School Students

The Department of Media and Communication (COM) held the Creativity in Communication Workshop for the registered secondary school students on 16th July 2022. The Department Head Professor Yu-li Liu warmly welcomed the students and introduced COM’s BA programs, faculty members, curriculum, internship and academic exchange opportunities for the students. She also accompanied the students to visit the department’s TV newsroom, 3D virtual studio, and other teaching facilities. Meanwhile, she appealed for students’ devotion and dedication to study and work on communication related fields in the future.
 
After visiting COM’s teaching facilities, the students joined a workshop held by instructor Mr Sunny Chan, who encouraged the students to think creatively and critically in academic studies.
 
“The 5W1H is the most helpful method to help COM students to create and explore more in their learning process,” said Chan, who inspired the visiting students not to be afraid to create and produce. “Just think out of the box by using 5W1H.”
 
The 5W1H, or Five Ws and one H, is a technique that can help people comb through information, understand a situation and to discern a problem by analyzing all the aspects.
