When print meets the web: US professor Zhou Shuhua has a rethink on affordances

On March 14th, Professor Zhou Shuhua from the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri, delivered a Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series talk entitled “Print and Digital Affordances: Implications for News Cognition”. In this presentation, Professor Zhou discussed his latest research examining the affordances provided by print newspapers and digital news sites, based on the perspectives of Gibson's ecological psychology and his conceptualizations of affordances. This lecture attracted more than 50 Zoom participants from across the Greater China Region and the United States.
