The Department of Media and Communication (COM) organized three interactive online briefing sessions on City University Information Day and they were successfully held in the afternoon of Oct 23. More than 140 people attended the sessions and a fruitful discussion was experienced among the students.

The online briefing session was opened by Professor Yu-li Liu, Head of the Department, who gave a welcome speech to the potential students. It was then followed by the course major leaders, Dr. Guanxiong Huang and Dr. Ki Joon Kim who introduced our undergraduate programmes, Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication (BAMDCM) and Bachelor of Arts in Digital Television and Broadcasting (BATVB). Afterward, Ms. Jennifer Lau explained student internship arrangement and our alumni, Charles Wong and Jay Ng, shared their school activities and working experience to the audience.

A guided tour was arranged for high school students who want to have a physical connection with our current students as well as our department facilities. Our students guided the participants to visit our omnimedia digital newsroom, advertising design and shooting studio, 3D virtual TV studio and digital audio recording room. Meanwhile, they explained the usage of the facilities and shared their valuable school life experience to the participants. Around 60 participants joined the guided tour and they feel curious and interests about the facilities and programmes.

One of the visitors, Ms Chan, is a teacher of a local secondary school. She and some of her students who were interested in the COM programmes joined the facility tour. Ms Chan commented that the tour was fruitful and enabled them to learn more about the department. She also appreciated the demonstration and sharing done by the COM students.

The undergraduate programmes are suitable for those students who are interested in TV Journalism, New Media, Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing areas. If you miss the online briefing sessions on Oct 23, you can visit both programmes at the following webpages:
