COM Faculty Member Elected as Early Career at Professional Association

Dr. Nancy Dai of the Department of Media and Communication was elected the Board Student & Early Career Representative of the International Communication Association (ICA), one of the largest professional organizations for Communication scholars.
Active ICA members from all divisions were eligible to participate in the election, yielding a voter turnout rate of 18%. Dr. Dai’s term will last for two years, beginning in May 2022.
The role of Board Student & Early Career Representative is typically taken by PhD students or scholars within 3-5 years of their career. Dr. Dai will serve the ICA community by representing the general needs of early career scholars, enhancing their experience, and advancing ICA’s profile as a welcoming organization to early career scholars.
