The First Roundtable Forum on Computational Communication Research

On September 20, 2021, the Computational Communication Research Cluster, one of COM's five research clusters, held a roundtable forum on What, Why and How to Do Computational Research. The cluster includes Professor Jonathan Zhu and six faculty members who are working on research using big data and machine learning. In this roundtable, Dr. Guanxiong Huang, Dr. Crystal Jiang, Dr. Ji Won Kim,  Dr. Xiaofan Liu, Dr. Xiaohui Wang and Prof. Zhu showcased their ongoing projects on applying computational methods to advertising, health communication, interpersonal relationship, and social media research, followed by a lively discussion with the audience. The event was held in a mixed mode of offline and online, with approximately 100 online participants locally and internationally.
