CLASS Scholar Honoured with RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr Kin-man WAN of the Department of Public Policy is honoured as one of CityU’s four awardees of the Research Grants Council Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme 2021-22.

Dr Wan will be working on the project "The Nexus of Conflict Process" under the supervision of Dr Edmund CHENG, Associate Professor of Department of Public Policy. He is experienced in using experimental methods to conduct academic research. His research interests include comparative politics, political economy, conflict studies and research methods. Dr Wan also recently received the Evan Ringquist Award from the Midwest Political Science Association. 

The Scheme aims to encourage doctoral graduates in pursuing career in research and provide promising researchers with support at a pivotal time in their very early career, so as to ensure a supply of talent with scientific and research skills for research and development in Hong Kong. Candidates have to go through a rigorous process, which assesses their academic excellence, research track record and the potential impact of the proposed research project(s), before being selected for the award. An annual stipend for covering the awardee’s basic salary and a conference and research-related travel allowance will be provided throughout the 36-month fellowship period.
