Dr ZHU Yuner of the Department of Public Policy is honored as one of CityU’s seven awardees of the Research Grants Council Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme 2020/21.

Dr Zhu will be working on the project "Network Typology and Norm Dynamics" under the supervision of Dr Edmund CHENG. She is experienced in designing, conducting and teaching computational social sciences. Her research interest is on the intertwined relationship between social media and (non-)democracies.

The Scheme aims to encourage doctoral graduates in pursuing career in research and provide promising researchers with support at a pivotal time in their very early career, so as to ensure a supply of talent with scientific and research skills for research and development in Hong Kong. Candidates have to go through a rigorous process, which assesses their academic excellence, research track record and the potential impact of the proposed research project(s), before being selected for the award. An annual stipend for covering the awardee’s basic salary and a conference and research-related travel allowance will be provided throughout the 36-month fellowship period.

The College would like to extend a huge congratulations to Dr Zhu and look forward to her research works that contribute to the frontier of knowledge.
