Dr CHAN Heng-choon Oliver’s research focuses on sexual offending and Asian criminology where he conducts research on various topics. Dr. Chan published extensively, especially in the area of sexual homicide. His research largely emphasizes on the offending behavior of sexual murderers, with implications for police investigation in the form of offender profiling and crime prevention strategies.

Dr CHAN Heng-choon Oliver’s research focuses on sexual offending and Asian criminology where he conducts research on various topics. Dr. Chan published extensively, especially in the area of sexual homicide. His research largely emphasizes on the offending behavior of sexual murderers, with implications for police investigation in the form of offender profiling and crime prevention strategies. In view of his research performance, Dr. Chan has been presented with a number of prestigious awards over the past few years in addition to his most recent award – “New Researcher Award” by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in 2017. These other awards include the “Outstanding Criminology Ambassador” by the University of South Florida in 2012, the “Early Career Award” by Hong Kong University Grants Committee (UGC) in 2014, and “The President’s Award” by CityU in 2017.
