State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves

The first such laboratory in the engineering discipline in Hong Kong, it focuses on research into the principal theories and applications of millimeter wave and terahertz technology. Key research areas include antenna design, RFIC (Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit) design, and fast computational techniques.

UN-endorsed CityU project on monitoring global estuaries

  • Initiating a 10-year UN-endorsed "Global Estuaries Monitoring (GEM)" programme at State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP)
  • Studying environmental pollutants in estuaries of major cities world-wide for long-term policies on promoting clean estuaries through GEM programme
  • Commencing 1st phase of GEM study in May 2022 in major urbanised estuaries in southern hemisphere; extending to northern hemisphere in November 2022

Tung Biomedical Sciences Centre

The Tung Biomedical Sciences Centre serves as an interdisciplinary research and education hub dedicated to the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the prediction, prevention and treatment of cancers, neurodegeneration and infectious diseases. The Centre is also one of the major incubators of highly promising entrepreneurial ideas, contributing to technology transfer and commercialisation. It has been named in honour of The Tung Foundation in appreciation of the staunch and generous support of the Foundation.
