Q. What are the eligibility requirements for joining?

Eligible employers should have operated locally in Hong Kong for at least 6 months. To participate in CARLS 3.0, interested employers should provide job opportunities, whether full-time graduate employment or full-time contract-based employment to CityU graduates of Class 2022 of UGC-funded full-time Undergraduate programmes. Job opportunities should start between May and September 2022, with duration of at least 3 months or more.

Q. What documents would I need to provide to CityU?

Before recruitment:
a. The mutual agreement “Agreement of CARLS 3.0” to be signed between CityU and your company once you confirm to employ CityU Class of 2022 graduates under the Scheme.

After recruitment:
b. Copy of employment contract with monthly salary figure.
c. Copy of payslip of the funding period (i.e. 3 to 4 months’ payslips).

Q. What is the maximum number of CityU graduates that my company can hire?

There is no limit. Eligible jobs will be uploaded to our in-house online job platform – JobPlus for students’ viewing.
However, please note that quotas are set for employers’ matching fund on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Q. How can my company apply?

Respective employers can apply for the Scheme via the QuestionPro link provided by the invitation email sent by the Careers and Employability Consultants (CECs) of Colleges/ Schools, Offices and Career and Leadership Centre (CLC) of CityU.

Q. How many times can my company join?

There is no limit. Even if the employers had joined CARLS previously (i.e. CARLS 1.0 / 2.0), still welcome to join CARLS 3.0 again.

Q. When will my company get the reimbursement of matching fund?

Upon satisfactory completion of a maximum of 3-month work exposure, eligible matching fund will be reimbursed to participating employers by the University, subject to provision of the necessary supporting documents. A minimum of 4 to 6 weeks processing time should be expected.

Q. Will I receive any notification once the reimbursement of matching fund has been submitted?

Yes, all participated employers will receive a notification from CityU once the application of reimbursement of matching fund has been submitted.

Q. When is the deadline for submitting the reimbursement application?

Participated employers should submit the reimbursement application via the link provided by our Careers and Employability Consultant as soon as the appointed graduate has satisfactorily completed the 3-month work exposure.

Q. In case the 3-month employment is incomplete due to graduates’ premature departure or under any special circumstances, will reimbursement still be available?

Yes. In this case, reimbursement to the employers will be made on a pro-rata basis according to the actual duration of employment.
