World Number One in Female Kata
Ms Lau is currently the world’s No. 1 in female kata. She is a four-time medallist in the women’s individual kata event at the World Karate Championships, and was named the World Games Champion and Grand Winner in 2025. She is the first-ever Hong Kong Karate athlete to win a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She began her journey at CityUHK’s School of Creative Media in 2012 through the University’s Student Athletes Admission Scheme, and was awarded the Dr Herman Hu Outstanding Sports Talents Scholarship. During her time at CityUHK, she led the women's karate team to gold medal victories in intervarsity competitions. She was conferred the title of Honorary Fellow by CityUHK in 2024.
As a world-leading athlete, Ms Lau has brought immense pride to her alma mater. She inspires students through her resilience and sportsmanship, encouraging them to pursue excellence. Her remarkable achievements have brought Hong Kong international recognition and instilled positivity in the Hong Kong community.

Professor Michael Leung Kin-man, MH

Professor Leung has built an illustrious career at the forefront of innovation, spanning traditional banking, digital banking, and now the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. He is the Co-founder and Executive Director of EMEKO International Limited, and a Senior Advisor at BOA International Financial Group. For his professional and community contributions, he served as the President of the Hong Kong Computer Society, Founding Chairman of the Financial Technology Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, among many other roles. His visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have driven meaningful progress to society.
At CityUHK, he is a Professor of Practice in the Information Systems Department, and has served as Chairman of its Departmental Advisory Committee for many years. He is also an Honorary Director of the CityUHK Foundation, where he established the “Prof. & Mrs. Michael Leung Endowed Scholarships” to support students. His steadfast support to CityUHK has significantly empowered the future generations of global leaders, serving as an inspiring example of professional excellence and civic commitment.

Mr Anthony Lam

Mr Lam is the Group CEO and Vice-Chairman of Golden Resources Development International Ltd. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the top-selling rice providers in Hong Kong. He supports the University development through initiatives such as the CityUHK Foundation, the HK Tech 300 programme, the Industrial and Business Leaders Circle, and serves as Vice-Chairman of the CityUHK Eminence Society, and Chairman of the Departmental Advisory Committee of the Department of Marketing. He is also the Executive Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

Dr Shi is the Chairman and Founder of Brilliant International Group Ltd. A renowned industrialist and entrepreneur, he has garnered a formidable reputation in the global printing and packaging industry. He actively contributes to the University development through the CityUHK Foundation, where he serves as member of the Foundation Board of Governors, the HK Tech 300 programme, and as Vice-Chairman of the CityUHK Eminence Society. He is CityUHK Court Member and was conferred the title of Honorary Fellow in 2021 by CityUHK. He is the former President of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong.
