The annual flagship cultural event, CityU Arts Festival 2021/22, kicked off on 8 October 2021.
The Opening Concert, "Fly with Rhythms", drew a full house of the audience. A group of elite youth professional musicians led by the Cellist, Prof. Ray WANG, displayed their talent and performed a variety of classical repertoires in cello and piano, including "Kol Nidrei", "Suite for Two Cellos and Piano", and "In Vacanza".
CityU Philharmonic Orchestra performed "Ritual Fire Dance" composed by Manuel de Falla. Audiences immersed immortal melody of Frédéric Chopin's masterpieces, such as "Piano Concerto No.1 in E minor, Op.11", from the Orchestra joint performance with the gifted pianist Ms. Shelley NG. Embraced by rounds and rounds of applause, there could never be a dull moment in the entire 2-hour performance.
