Overwhelming responses to Distinguished Lecture Series in 2016

CityU Distinguished Lecture Series is a platform which allows our university community to meet world renowned speakers from different backgrounds and covering a wide range of topics. The lecture series encourages the introduction of new and exciting ideas and offers a forum for the exchange of knowledge. In 2016, the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Technology) has organized 12 lectures under this series covering topics including the latest scientific research, engineering, business and arts and culture.

To echo a highlighted event this year at CityU, ‘Giuseppe Castiglione – Lang Shining New Media Art Exhibition', two distinguished lectures were organized. The first, ‘Portrayals from a Brush Divine: Giuseppe Castiglione's Achievements, Art and Influence over Chinese Art' was delivered by Fung Ming-chu, Director of the National Palace Museum. The second ‘Giuseppe Castiglione Jesuit missionary and court painter in Beijing' was delivered by Dr Francesco Vossilla, President of the Società di Studi Giuseppe Castiglione-Lang Shining. These lectures were held on 25th April and 15th May 2016 respectively.
