The Scheme rewards research excellence by giving each winner a trophy and a cash award. Certificates of Merit will also be awarded on the recommendation of the Selection Panel. Up to five Awards of Excellence will be granted, each with a value of HK$15,000. A Grand Award of HK$25,000 may also be granted to give recognition for exceptionally outstanding achievements . The event will be held biennially.
