Course Aims

This course aims to enhance the students to develop an understanding of the concepts of power, politics, social control and deviance in comparative and international perspectives. This aim will be attained through three objectives. First, it will introduce the major theoretical approaches in sociology of politics and deviance in comparative and international contexts. Second, it will examine these approaches through relevant empirical examples. Third, it will introduce the major topics of interests pertinent to sociology of politics and deviance.
