Course Aims

This course aims to
  • introduce the fundamental concepts and techniques of financial engineering to industrial engineering students;
  • enable students to develop an intuitive understanding of these concepts and techniques;
  • enable students to apply the financial engineering tools to formulate and solve problems in the industrial engineering setting;
  • introduce elements of stochastic analysis to students within an industrial engineering context.
No prior background in finance is assumed. The course contents will be tailored and presented based on the mathematics background of the typical industrial engineering students.
