Course Aims

The course aims to equip students with appropriate conceptual frameworks to examine how housing systems are managed in the context of a rapidly changing social, economic and political environment. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to summarise the institutional and organisational arrangement of the housing system in Hong Kong; evaluate new and emerging operation and management of the housing system in both the public and private sector; discover new perspectives in analysing issues in the housing system with theories and techniques acquired from this and other courses in the programme;  critically appraise the theories and techniques of housing management in the light of the local socio-political and policy context; and devise possible solutions for the problems in the housing system.
