Course Aims

The aim of this course is to develop students' concepts in the structures and mechanical properties of polymeric materials so as to be able to: (i) select and use appropriate materials in the design of plastic based components/products, and (ii) use the knowledge towards selecting optimum manufacturing processes and processing conditions. 
In addition, it will provide relevant knowledge needed for undertaking further courses on tool design and product design courses involving plastics.

Examination: 60%
