Course Aims

The course offers a basic introduction to the cultures and heritage in contemporary Hong Kong from various perspectives by providing students with understanding of  
  • the difference between Chinese and western cultures
  • Hong Kong as a multicultural society
  • the influence of colonial heritage on contemporary Hong Kong
  • cultural identity through appreciating the revitalization of built heritage and antiquities
  • how a harmonious society may be built through appreciating cultures and heritage
