Aims of Minor

This minor aims to

  1. provide students with an introduction to the discipline of political science and knowledge of key issues of local and global politics;
  2. produce graduates who can meet effectively the human resources needs of a wide range of public and private sector employers in administrative, management and policy analysis positions;
  3. broaden students’ perspectives and deepen their understanding of other cultures.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Minor (MINILOs)

Upon successful completion of this Minor, students should be able to:

  1. master a basic understanding of major concepts and theories in political science and knowledge of major developments in local and global politics;  
  2. develop a general competence in dealing with issues related to political analysis;
  3. acquire the intellectual and analytical competence required for effective performance and leadership in a range of public- and private-sector careers linked to policy studies and administration;
  4. be articulate in public affairs and able to reflect critically and formulate one’s judgment on issues of public interest.
