Course Aims

This course aims to engage students in in-depth study and analysis of a selected Asian society or region by way of problem-based learning. Students will be introduced to historical backgrounds and a variety of theme-based issues. Students will work on individual assignments as well as collaborate in small groups to identify problems they are most interested in and propose possible solutions. Students will learn how to communicate effectively and engage in research activities, which require them to articulate different perspectives, appraise problems and offer ways of resolving them. These skills will enhance students’ employability in organizations working on regional projects.
