Active Learning and Interactive Teaching
Active Learning and Interactive Teaching will help you understand what active learning is, as well as what interactive teaching is and why it is helpful to use it.
Upon completion of the module, you will be able to:
- Define active learning and interactive teaching;
- Describe two interactive teaching techniques;
- Create new interactive teaching techniques;
- Apply those techniques to your own teaching.
Modes of Completion
- Individual Module Completion
Participants take a pre-quiz, work through the video materials, and take the post-quiz for the module. If they score at least 70% on the post quiz for a given module, they get a digital badge and a Certificate of Completion for that module.
OR
- Individual Module Completion with Honours
Participants take the pre-quiz, work through the video materials, and take the post-quiz for the module. In addition, they complete a written assignment for the module. If they score at least 70% on each post-quiz for a given module and submit a satisfactory written assignment for the module, they get a digital badge and a Certificate of Completion (with Honours) for that module, as well as an In-house, HRO staff development credit.
Certificate of Completion (with Honours) will normally be issued at the beginning of Semester B and all others in July based on registrants' achievement.

| Eligibility for In-house, HRO staff development credit | Completion of all materials including module quizzes with score of 70% or more on the post-, then an assignment based on a prompt for writing a 500 word reflection, which is submitted online for feedback from the course coordinator. |
