Background of Speaker:

Mr Remus Kwok is now the Service Supervisor of the Positive Education Laboratory, Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences, at the City University of Hong Kong. He has dedicated himself in offering staff training and parent talks for higher education institutions as well as over 100 organizations and schools. In addition, he offers supervision in the promotion and application of positive psychology to different settings. His devotion to the application of positive psychology is well recognized.

Positive Education is an approach to applying positive psychology to help individuals to flourish in education setting. In this training, we focus on discovering student’s character strengths. Identifying students’ character strengths isn’t just collecting interesting information, when skillfully applied, character strengths can actually have a significant positive impact on students’ life.

Joint University Mental-wellness Project (JUMP) is a project coordinated by 5 Universities (The City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong) in promoting mental well-being and mental health of university students. Adopting the frameworks of positive psychology and experiential learning, JUMP aims to facilitate university students to reflect on the meanings of life and enhance their concern for others and the society.
