It has been more than a week since the new housing year started on 25 August 2008. How are you adapting to the new environment? Do you get along well with your roommate and floormates?
It may not be new to you but in case some of you may not know, here are some common questions raised by our undergraduate residents:
1. ¡§How long is my room assignment?¡¨
Your room assignment is for one housing year. Make the best use of the period to develop your interpersonal skills, self-discipline and caring attitude. Be a responsible resident to build a safe and harmonious residence community of 3,000 residents.
2. ¡§Can I apply for a room change?¡¨
Our residence community emphasizes harmony. You are encouraged to resolve conflicts with peers by mutual respect, tolerance and communication. Requests for a room change have to be supported by your Residence Tutor and approved by your Residence Master.
3. ¡§When should I apply for early withdrawal from my hall?¡¨
Early withdrawal from the Student Residence is allowed within the second week of the academic year (by Saturday, 13 Sept 13 2008). Obtain an "Application for Withdrawal from Student Residence" form at the SRO and submit it to SRO by 10 Sept. If you choose to withdraw within the second week, you can check out without paying
your
full outstanding residence fees. Otherwise, you will be liable to pay for the
full outstanding residence fees. The confirmation fee is
non-refundable
and non-transferable. No refund of hall fees will be arranged,
if full fees have already been settled.
