The Student Residence provides a platform for students from different countries and cultures to learn from each other. As the new academic year begins, you will meet many new friends in the residence. Here we would like to introduce to you our new friends from outside Hong Kong.

This semester we have a total of 550 new residents from outside Hong Kong, including 337 exchange students from 27 countries/regions, 186 foundation year students from mainland China and 36 new non-local students. Of the 337 exchange students, the majority come from mainland China and USA. These are our two biggest numbers, followed by the groups from France, UK and Canada. The 186 mainland foundation year students come from a variety of provinces and cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Canton and Zhejiang.

For current residents, now is the right time for you to show your hospitality to the new residents and help them get used to residence life quickly. What¡¦s more, you can learn a lot from their culture and diversity, which also leads you to become an integrated person with a broader perspective.

For inbound exchange and non-local residents, keep in mind the purpose you come to Hong Kong for. The people and culture here may be different from your own. But people here are friendly and willing to make new friends. If you have any questions or suggestions, just feel free to ask people around you. It should be a brand new experience in your life - do enjoy your stay here.
