Let¡¦s gather and share our summer stories! To all residents and friends, old and new, here we are gathered again!
Summer has come and passed but the cheers and tears can never go away. In this unforgettable summer, we have witnessed the preparation, opening and closing of the Olympic Games. Stories of all the athletes, of joy and of sadness, on and off the Games, have captured our hearts.
However, what makes this summer unique to each and every one of us is our own stories. This summer has seen the coming and leaving of many of us who have been on exchange, internship, voluntary service, study tours, summer jobs and travelling with our roommates and hallmates. They would like to hear about it, whether it is about a surprise, an adventure, an affection or even a thought. You will hear one from a resident, Chan Chuen-ling Jackie, who served as a ceremonial hostess for the 2008 Olympic Equestrian Events staged in Hong Kong.
The Student Residence is also eager to share her stories with you, friends. Time has never been so hectic as in this summer. Not only have CityU students enjoyed our accommodation, guests from across the globe have also become our residents and an important part of the SR. The SR was honorably involved in the Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) of the Games of the XXIX Olympics by providing international volunteers with safe and comfortable accommodation. The SR also provided 221 rooms for experts attending the World Ophthalmology Congress 2008 and accommodated more than 600 youth and children from all over the world during their HK International Youth & Children's Choir Festival.
All these temporary summer residents have enjoyed the culture of our community
and become part of it. The Olympics has ended, but our fruitful semester
is yet to come! Welcome, friends together we shall usher in a new
start while savoring our dynamic summer!
