In addition to posters and emails, we did a lot of ¡§reaching out¡¨ in person to exchange students and other residents. Moreover, we invited an exchange student to be the MC for the Party. This became another factor to attract other exchange and non-local students to take part.

The Party

Our party rundown comprised five parts: 1) food sharing along with music and videos; 2) dancing; 3) games; 4) lucky draw; 5) photo taking. Participants came from different halls and backgrounds, but all shared the same goals: making friends with others and, through a food party, enjoying a cultural activity that was fun. The party was a success in broadening our views about various foods and cuisines, bridging the interaction between local and non-local students, promoting cultural exchange and widening residents' interpersonal networks.
