It’s nearly the end of April!  I know that for some of us, that fact is less of a celebration and more of a black cloud hanging over our heads, reminding us of our upcoming final exams.  But, no matter how stressed you are feeling, just remember – summer is almost here!  We have worked hard and studied diligently.  Our reward is just around the corner, whether it be a summer break before another semester of classes in the fall or a graduation ceremony to look forward to. If you are having trouble seeing through the stress of these upcoming few weeks, check out these tips for overcoming your stress, both mentally and physically.

Despite the academic busyness surrounding the end of the semester, there are still plenty of fun activities going on around the Student Residence.  At the beginning of the month, The Professor Edmund Ko Cup was brought to a close with the finale of the Inter-hall Singing Contest.  Similarly, a group of talented musicians has come together at the Student Residence this semester to create a diverse band that is a fusion of both Chinese and Western music styles and Eastern and Western cultures. Jocelyn reflects on how this experience has helped her see diversity through a whole new light. Capping off this part of the month will be a special naming ceremony for Hall 9 – now to be known as the Sir Gordon and Lady Ivy Wu Hall!

As we approach the end of the semester, for some of us it will mean leaving the Student Residence as we move on to the next chapters in our lives.  Whether we realize it or not, living in the halls has influenced our lives in one way or another (but probably many!).  Join Johnny as he reflects on how living in the Student Residence for the past four years has made Ken a “hall-made man” and how this will help him on the next portion of his journey.

Finally, if you are not quite sure how to spend your summer yet, perhaps a summer internship is the way to go.  Just in time, Jack shares with us some of the benefits of a summer internship, which might be just the advice you are looking for to help you make your decision.

We hope this issue of ResLink will provide an insightful and relaxing break from your final exam revision.  On that note, all of us at ResLink wish you the very best as you prepare for your exams and your fun-filled summer ahead!
