Time flies, doesn’t it? It is already Revision Period and all of us are gearing up to give examinations the best shot! It seems as if it were just tomorrow when we were all perfect strangers and now we are all perfect friends. While some of us are busy preparing for examinations, there are a few of us who are going to live these few days to the fullest, because they don’t know when they will get a chance to come back to Hong Kong and the lovely place - the CityU Student Residence. Yes, they are no other than our exchange buddies!

Exchange students will definitely have been a part of your hall life- either as room-mates or floor-mates or hall-mates. They will surely have left some prints on each of our minds through their open views, refreshing thoughts and varied perspectives. As they say, friends are God's way of taking care of us. By housing 345 exchange students from more than 45 regions of the world, the Student Residence has tried to bring us all closer together like one big happy family. The residence has had the opportunity to shelter people from distinct nationalities who checked not only into the halls but also into the hearts of their fellow hall-mates by actively participating in various inter-hall competitions, Civility Dialogues, Mid-autumn Festival Celebrations, Youth-Empowerment Project and many other hall and floor activities. Julien Verona, an exchange student from Canada shared: “I love hanging out with the locals. They give me the taste of the local culture that I have fallen in love with! I shall miss this place when I am gone.”

It is our belief that every resident is like a star. We may not be able to see them once they are gone but we know that they are there, shining brightly somewhere!
