Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way!

For Hong Kong, it should be "spending all the way". In a metropolitan city like Hong Kong, Christmas is a universal joy, a year-round excitement, and of course no one will deny it: Christmas is a great occasion to empty one’s pocket.

Look at how the big shopping malls present us with festive fantasies: they bring us Santa Claus all the way from Finland and seat him in with a gigantic Christmas tree. The lovely old man always welcomes visitors. But to sit on his lap and share with him your wishes and goodwill, you need to spend over a thousand dollars in the shopping mall, so it goes without saying that the seconds of intimacy are really costly. Even if you don’t bother to sit on Santa Claus’ lap, you cannot escape the convention of exchanging gifts with family members and friends. To show your love and care, a present to your lover is crucial to win his or her affectionate love.

But there are always some cheaper ways to celebrate the sacred day. Flocking to Victoria Harbour, crowding on the two banks and admiring the splendid, spectacular, glittering light decorations are certainly some good ways to celebrate Christmas.  On the walls of the towering skyscrapers, sparkling light bulbs are hung forming attractive pictures like chanting angels and bouncing deers. The decorations change every year and they attract longing locals and tourists from all over the world.

If visual entertainment is not refreshing enough, go for a few ice-cold drinks and a big feast in Lan Kwai Fong. Located in the heart of Central, this world-famous street has gathered a great variety of restaurants and bars to satisfy your thirst for beverages and gourmet food. On special occasions like Christmas, wine festivals are held and the street is flooded with exhilarated crowds.  Be ready to spend more from your pockets there, because prices go up on the big days.

Merry Christmas! ResLink wishes you all a full stomach and a handful of presents and gifts!
