Emergency Reporting

In case of emergency when life and/or property is/are endangered, please call 3442 1999, our 24-hour Security Office, for assistance. The team will be dispatched to the scene to render on-the-spot assistance. If the situation demands, the 24-hour Security Office will request assistance from Police, Fire Services and/or Ambulance.

Nature of Incident

1. Fire
2. Any accident / injury
3. Electric Shock
4. Person reported serious sick
5. Person reported shut in lift
6. Flooding
7. Any crime
8. Any other incidents that life or property is endangered

 


When calling for help, please give:

1. Full detail of location of incident;
2. Nature of incident with brief description;
3. Any person(s) injured in the incident;
4. Your name, location and contact telephone number.

In the Event of Fire

1. Remain calm;
2. Alert persons nearby by shouting "Fire";
3. Break the fire alarm glass;
4. Switch off power / fuel supply;
5. Evacuate immediately the threatened area;
6. Close doors to isolate fire and smoke;
7. Leave the building and go to the "Emergency Assembly Point" at the Student Residence next to the footbridge;
8. Do not return for valuables or for any reason until area is declared safe.

Upon Discovering a Fire

1. Keep calm;
2. Sound the fire alarm by activating the break-glass alarm in the corridor;
3. Call the 24-hour Security Office, if time permits, by dialing 3442 1999;
4. Only tackle the fire if you are absolutely sure that danger is not imminent;
5. Close doors to contain fire and smoke;
6. Exit the building.

Upon Hearing the Fire Alarm

1. Keep calm;
2. Stop your work immediately;
3. Exit the building;
4. Urge and assist other people in the building to leave.

 

In the Event of Injury or Serious Illness

1. Call the 24-hour Security Office by dialing 3442 1999. Make the request for ambulance service whenever it is required.
2. DO NOT attempt to conduct rescue operation unless you know for sure how to perform a proper rescue or you know the situation is safe.
3. DO NOT attempt to move the injured person in particular if it is a suspected head or spinal injury case.
4. Keep the injured or seriously ill person comfortable, warm and lying down.
