- Application for Research Students
New Research Students
- As the number of bedplaces is limited, new Research Students should indicate their intention of on-campus accommodation via their application accounts at http://www.sgs.cityu.edu.hk/prospective/apply/notesrp by the specified deadlines:
1st round: 15 May 2011
2nd round: 31 July 2011
If the application is made after the specified due date, the Student can submit the completed form "Application for Student Residence for Research/Postgraduate Students" to the Student Residence Office, Forms can be downloaded at SRO website: http://www.cityu.edu.hk/sro/download/Form/Hall_Application/app_form_rs.doc. The application will be processed after the main batch of application is completed.
- Application results can be checked by logging in their application accounts at http://www.sgs.cityu.edu.hk/prospective/apply/notesrp if it is a online application. Students who are offered a bedplace at the Student Residence will also receive email notification and should follow the relevant instructions to notify the Student Residence Office about the acceptance of residence. If the students fail to respond by the deadline specified and have not paid the non-refundable and non-transferable confirmation fee, the offer of the residence place will be forfeited.
- There is no guarantee that a hall place will be reserved or offered as the number of bedplace is limited.
Current Research Students
- If the current Research Students continue to study in the subsequent academic year and would like to apply for the Student Residence, no matter they are currently residing in student residence halls, students are required to submit an application through AIMS in the specified period.
- Applicants will be informed of application results by email notification and successful applicants will then be invited to confirm their offer acceptance by paying a non-refundable and non-transferable confirmation fee.
- There is no guarantee that a hall place will be reserved or offered as the number of bedplace is limited.
- Application for Postgraduate Students
- Due to great demand in residence places, we are unable to offer residence place to the non-local students on self-financed taught postgraduate programmes. Students should be prepared to arrange their own off-campus accommodation. Details about off-campus accommodation, please click here.
- 2 The non-local students offered government-funded places for the Postgraduate Certificate in Law programme (PCLL) are eligible to apply for student residence. To apply for on-campus accommodation, please submit the completed form "Application for Student Residence for Research/Postgraduate Students" to Student Residence Office together with a copy of your admission offer letter. Form can be download at SRO website.

- Points to Note after Submission of Application:
- The hall places in Hall 8 will be assigned first. Hall 8 of the Student Residence (Cornwall Street) is a postgraduate hall providing 416 single rooms for eligible research students. Four well-furnished single rooms form a self-contained flat with bathroom, washroom and pantry facilities. In each single room, you will enjoy your personal space with a single bed, bookshelves, phone and computer network.
- When all these places are taken, the places in Jockey Club House and Jockey Club Harmony Hall (7-9/F) will be assigned.
