Ubaid is a practising barrister in Hong Kong.  He commenced his practice in 2004 and he focuses primarily on civil litigation.  However, he also has an interest in criminal law and undertakes criminal matters occasionally.  He qualified as a CEDR Accredited Mediator in 2013.

Ubaid has been teaching at City University on a full time basis since 2010.  During this period, he has taught courses in the LLB, LLM, JD and PCLL programmes.  He is the course leader of the LLB Civil Procedure course and the co-course leader of the Personal Injuries elective on the PCLL programme.  He also teaches Equity and Trusts, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation and Advocacy.

Ubaid was born in Hong Kong and is a die-hard fan of Liverpool Football Club and the Duke University college basketball programme.  In his spare time, Ubaid undertakes volunteer work to help young members of Hong Kong’s ethnic minorities, advising them on education and career matters.
