Renmin University of China School of Law is one of the
leading law schools in China. It started to offer a Master
of Laws (LLM) programme through the City University of
Hong Kong in 1995. The programme is a well recognized
postgraduate degree and offers an opportunity to acquire
a thorough understanding of the operation of the Chinese
legal system. It is conducted by a team of instructors
drawn from the Renmin University of China.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
any discipline.
The LLM is a part-time programme. Classes are held in
the evenings and Saturday afternoons. It is expected that students will complete
the programme in two and a half years. Students
have to complete taught courses and submit a thesis.
The language of instruction is Chinese (Putonghua).
The programme has been included in the list of reimbursable
courses for Continuing Education Fund purposes.

The application period has started and will end on 20 July 2008. The application materials are contained in the programme brochure.
