Professor Wang Jiangyu, Director of the CCCL, commented on the Biden’s administration’s decision to ban the importation of solar panel products originated from Xinjiang. He opined that although this move is part of the geopolitical rivalry between the United States and China, the human rights ground for such ban is also a result of a different understanding about the relationship between freedom and economic development in Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore’s flagship Chinese newspaper.
