Professor Wang Jiangyu, RCCL Director, was invited to appear on the popular Global Watch news programme of CGTN (China Global Television Network) and interviewed by Li Dongning, the host of the programme, on several legal issues concerning the National Security Law (NSL) adopted for Hong Kong by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) on 30 June. He shared his view on whether the law would end press freedom in Hong Kong, whether the protective jurisdiction provided in the NSL is plausible from the perspective of enforcement, as well as, whether U.S. sanctions against China and Hong Kong will undermine Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre.
