Dean Wang's Message

The International Conference on Access to Non-Judicial Justice is a significant achievement in City University School of Lawˇ¦s continuing mission to provide a world-class legal education and to promote excellence in legal studies.

City University of Hong Kong was the first university in Hong Kong, and arguably in Asia, to introduce a Masterˇ¦s programme on arbitration and dispute resolution and encourages research and publication in the area of informal dispute resolution.

It is only last year that we organized a highly successful international conference on mediation.  Sixteen papers presented at the conference were published as a special issue of Asia Pacific Law Review, our flagship publication.

In the past few years we have organized several significant international conferences--  including ones dealing with the Hong Kong Basic Law, legal education in the global economy, WTO and dispute resolution processes and New Haven School.

I am delighted to hear that several legal scholars have already expressed their interest in the conference and that the conference will attract cosponsors.

I send you my best wishes for yet another successful conference.
