A group of eight Academicians of IAQ (International Academy for Quality) visited SEEM and the TQE (Total Quality Engineering) laboratories. They appreciated the rationale, design and current development of the TQE program and the university’s supports to the program.

SEEM co-organized a Symposium under the theme of “Quality New challenges: Quality and Sustainability in Education of Asia Pacific” together with IAQ (International Academy for Quality), ANQ (Asian Network for Quality and HKSQ (Hong Kong Society for Quality) on 3 Aug 2012 at City University of Hong Kong.
The Symposium featured the keynote speech by Prof. Shoji Shiba, Academician of IAQ and Recipient of the Deming Prize, with the title of “Breakthrough Management in Education of Asia” and the panel discussion on the topic of “A big challenge: How can we contribute to a significant improvement of quality and sustainability in Education of Asia Pacific?” with leading experts from six Asian Pacific regions. More than 60 overseas and local experts attended the symposium and earnestly participated in the discussion.

SEEM co-organized a professional seminar with the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) – Hong Kong Section under the topic of “Manufacturing Improvement and Optimization”. About 60 people attended the seminar and actively participated in the discussion.
