Outbound Exchange Scholarships

Chow Wah Cheuck Student Exchange Scholarships

To provide scholarships to enable qualified outbound exchange students to join exchange study.

Name

The scholarships shall be known as “Chow Wah Cheuck Student Exchange Scholarships”, 「周華焯學生交流獎學金」.

Value and Number of Awards

There shall be a maximum of one Scholarship in each academic year. The value of each Scholarship shall be HK$5,000.

Eligibility

All outbound exchange students who are full-time UGC-funded local undergraduate students and have met the following criteria are eligible:

  1. shall be undergraduate students of the School of Energy and Environment;
  2. have achieved a CGPA of 3 or above in the last semester/term of study;
  3. have possessed promising attributes such as leadership potential, aspiration for advancement, etc;
  4. have fulfilled, before departing for exchange studies, the English language requirements for exchange programme using English as the medium of instruction, or other language proficiency or special requirement as specified for individual programme; and
  5. have not participated in similar University-subsidized exchange programmes.
Condition
  1. Scholarship recipients are allowed to receive Student Exchange Fund from the University concurrently for the exchange programme.
  2. Selected students are required to attend a three-hour “Pre-departure Training Session for Scholarship Recipients”.
  3. Scholarship recipients are required to submit an exchange study report to SDS within one month upon their return to Hong Kong.
  4. 80% of the scholarship value shall be released when the recipients present the offering letter issued by the overseas universities. The 20% of the scholarship value shall be paid when the recipients submit their report on exchange study.
  5. The University reserves the right to demand for full or partial refund of the scholarship should any student fails to complete the exchange programme.
Application Procedure and Deadline

Eligible students should submit their application and upload relevant supporting document by the deadline announced by SDS (usually by March/April) each year via the Online Scholarship Application System.  Late submission will not be considered.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a selection interview. Candidates failing to attend the selection interview in person will not be considered.

Mr & Mrs Or Sik Ling Student Exchange Scholarships

To provide scholarships to enable qualified outbound exchange students to join exchange study.

The scholarships shall be known as “Mr & Mrs Or Sik Ling Student Exchange Scholarships”, 「柯錫齡伉儷學生交流獎學金」.

Value and Number of Awards

There shall be a maximum of one Scholarship in each academic year. The value of each Scholarship shall be HK$5,000.

Eligibility

All outbound exchange students who are full-time UGC-funded local undergraduate students and have met the following criteria are eligible:

Rotary Club of New Territories Student Exchange Scholarship

To enable qualified outbound exchange students to join exchange study without financial worry.

Name

The Scholarship shall be known as “Rotary Club of New Territories Student Exchange Scholarship”, (新界扶輪社學生交流獎學金).

Value and Number of Awards

There shall be a maximum of 2 Scholarships in each academic year.  The value of each Scholarship shall be HK$10,000. 

Eligibility

All outbound exchange students who are full-time UGC-funded local undergraduate students and have met the following criteria:

  1. Shall be undergraduate students of the School of Energy and Environment;
  2. have achieved a CGPA of 3 or above in the previous year of study;
  3. have possessed promising attributes such as leadership potential, aspiration for advancement, etc;                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  4. have fulfilled, before departing for exchange studies, the English language requirements for exchange programme using English as the medium of instruction, or other language proficiency or special requirement as specified for individual programme; and
  5. have not participated in similar University-subsidized exchange programmes.  
Condition
  1. scholarship recipients are allowed to receive Student Exchange Fund from the University concurrently for the exchange programme;
  2. selected students are required to attend a pre-departure training organized by Student Development Services (SDS);
  3. scholarship recipients are required to submit an exchange study report to SDS within one month upon their return to Hong Kong;
  4. 80% of the scholarship value shall be released when the recipients present the offering letter issued by the overseas universities.  The 20% of the scholarship value shall be paid when the recipients submit their report on exchange study; and
  5. the University reserves the right to demand for all or partial refund of the scholarship should any student fails to complete the exchange programme.
