Prof. Kenneth Leung delivered an Inspiring Talk on Eco-Shoreline Construction through Ecological Engineering

On 30 April 2024, Hong Kong Metropolitan University hosted a thought-provoking event titled “Talk of the Metropolis”. The event featured a captivating presentation by Professor Kenneth Leung, Dean of the School of Energy and Environment and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at City University of Hong Kong. Professor Leung's talk centered around his groundbreaking eco-engineering projects aimed at constructing eco-shorelines. During his presentation, Professor Leung showcased their pioneering efforts in applying ecological principles to the design and construction of environmentally friendly structures. These structures play a crucial role in providing shade, retaining water, and offering shelter within seawalls. By doing so, they significantly enhance the diversity of coastal habitats while fostering the development of coastal ecosystems.

We are pleased to announce that the recorded talk will soon be available for online viewing and will also be featured on the “Knowledge for All” TV program, airing on TVB Pearl. Stay tuned or revisit past talks at the following link: https://www.hkmu.edu.hk/pao/talk-of-the-metropolis/
