The 600th Anniversary of Zheng He’s Voyages (2005)

A documentary film ‘Sultan’s lost treasure’ was produced and broadcast on television on 16 January 2001. The documentary followed a French-led expedition to recover porcelain and other artefacts from a centuries-old Chinese wreck off the coast of Brunei. Wuhan Newspaper

A Chinese reporter followed the route of one of Zheng He’s voyages and wrote an article about her journey. For details, click here

Time Asia

A detailed report on Zheng He’s voyage was published in the issue of 20-27 August 2001. Reporters explored the ports which Zheng He had visited and described the social and cultural changes there.

Federation of Chinese Assembly Halls in Malaysia

A group of representatives from this organisation visited the home town of Zheng He. A conference about Zheng He Studies was held in Xiamen City for their visit. Discussing topics includes: a) Publications of Zheng He Studies in Malaysia and Fuzhen; b) The impacts of Zheng Hes voyage on China-Malaysia relationship; c) The relation ship of Zheng He and Sam Po Shan in Melaka; d) the practical meaning of Zheng He Studies; e) the only Zheng He temple in mainland China; f) the formation of Zheng He Research Institute and the academia a ctivities for the 600th anniversary of Zheng Hes voyage.
