Filming BBC's Wild Burma: Enter One of Asia's Least Explored Wilderness

Abstract:

In this lecture, Mark Roberts reports on an expedition of wildlife film-makers and scientists into Myanmar's vast forest regions. Their goal was to capture the country's range of species and to present this research in a documentary and a report to the government. Mr. Roberts will share his experiences filming and recording this nature documentary and will draw extensively on video and audio clips.

Short Bio:

Mark Roberts has been involved in dozens of award-winning natural history series across the globe and worked closely with Sir David Attenborough.  In addition to his specialization as a sound recordist, he has written articles and photographed for numerous magazines.

In this multimedia seminar, sound recordist/natural history documentary-maker, Mark Roberts reported on his experiences while on an expedition of wildlife film-makers and scientists into Myanmar’s forest regions to capture the country’s varied species. A documentary was made and which was also used this as a report to the national government.
