Dr. Nankyung Choi’s research interests include local elections and politics, local elite development, and women’s political advancement in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. She has published in journals such as Indonesia, Journal of Contemporary Asia, South East Asia Research and Sojourn. In 2011 she published Local Politics in Indonesia: Pathways to Power (Routledge). She currently works on a comparative analysis of the diversification of profiles and modalities of local political elites in Indonesia and a cross-country comparative analysis of women’s pathways to local power in Indonesia and the Philippines. |
