International Studies Entrance Scholarships
Regulations
The Department of Asian and International Studies has agreed to provide three annual scholarships to the University by using her Non-UGC Reserves with effect from the academic year 2010/11. The following regulations shall apply as of 2013/14:
1. The Scholarship(s) shall be known as the “International Studies Entrance Scholarships”.
2. There shall be THREE awards in maximum. The value of each award shall be HK$10,000 per annum.
3. The Scholarship(s) shall be awarded to three undergraduate freshmen in maximum who have been admitted to Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in International Studies in the Department of Asian and International Studies and have achieved a CGPA / Award GPA at 3.0 in minimum in their higher diploma or associate degree study.
4. The scholarships shall be disbursed to the duly registered recipients after the full payment of tuition fee for Semester A by October.
5. Nomination(s) from the Department of Asian and International Studies shall reach the Student Development Services by January of the academic year for which the scholarships are designated.
6. Confirmation will be sought from the Department of Asian and International Studies by the end of July each year on whether or not the awards shall be continued for the following academic year.
Remark:
With an objective to nurture our students and to promote caring culture, the Community Relations Committee of the University Council has recommended that each award recipient is expected to make an annual donation of at least HK$200 to City University of Hong Kong for student support via CityU Alumni Giving Club when they are in employment after graduation. This term has been incorporated into all scholarship/prize/award/bursary schemes, whether they are donated by external donors or contributed by University funding, with effect from February 2008.
