The City University sports teams are coached by professional Physical Education staff. Opportunities are provided for the teams to participate in competitions organized by the Hong Kong Post-Secondary Colleges Athletic Association and other local sports bodies. Outstanding athletes may also be selected to represent Hong Kong in the World University Games and other international sports competitions held overseas.

All full-time college and undergraduate students with sports talent are invited to become a member of the CityU sports team: athletic, cross-country, badminton, basketball, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, soccer, and volleyball. Students interested in joining the teams are welcome to contact the responsible coaches/managers at the inquiry counter of Sports Centre, or directly approach them by phone or E-mail.
