Bonus Features
The School of Creative Media has exchange agreements with universities on Mainland China, other parts of Asia and North America giving students the opportunity to spend a semester at another university and explore different cultures. The School runs a summer internship programme where students can work for a summer in a media company. Students are encouraged to submit their art work to media festivals and competitions and have been very successful in these competitions. Students also have access to the extensive software and hardware facilities at the laboratories of the Computer Science Department.
All BScCM students are welcome to join the BScCM Special Interest Group (SIG) sponsored by the University. SIG is an extra-curriculum professional practice programme for those BScCM students who are passionate about media practice and creative ideas. SIGs are managed by students with the supervision of faculty advisors. The projects are determined largely based on students' interests and may range from innovative computer games, interactive installations to applied artworks. The first SIG showcase "SIG Playful Media" was a great success and attracted a lot of attention from universities in Hong Kong and the creative/new media industry.
Recently, there are 7 SIGs:
- SIGGA: Games / Animation
- SIGCG: Computer Graphics
- SIGInXT: Interactivity / Installation
- SIGMG: Motion Generation & Tracking
