What
is BADMB?
This programme aims to train a new generation of
professionals for the digital media and communication industry.
Taking a holistic approach in its vision and pedagogy, the
programme combines courses from the School of Creative Media,
Department of Computer Science, Department of Media and
Communication, Department of Marketing and Department of
Management. Students will be exposed to a wide range of
courses that cover the theory, practice and business of digital
media communications. The programme puts students at the
forefront of cutting-edge digital media technology and enables
them to acquire practical skills in content development,
production and management of digital media.
This programme intends to equip students with a
broad-based skill sets and prepare graduates to take up roles in
the creative, technological and management departments in the
rapidly changing and growing field of the digital media sector
including areas such as the internet, television and
telecommunications.

About This Programme
The programme stresses both the theoretical and
practical aspects of digital media broadcasting. It has a strong
focus on the core skills of digital broadcasting such as media
design and production. It also incorporates courses that provide a
broad-based education on related issues in the broadcasting
industry, including regulatory and ethical issues, cross-border
culture, communication and marketing, as well as creativity and
innovation management.
Students need to take courses that specify the
basic skills and approaches shared by the digital media industry.
Introductory courses cover a wide range of options such
as digital production fundamentals, basic sound design, digital
storytelling, marketing and communication theory.
Students can also take more advanced courses and
focus their study in the area of interest by taking one or more of
the following elective concentrations:
- Design and Production for Broadcasting
- Marketing and Management
- Communication

Career Prospects
Upon graduation, students will be equipped with
knowledge to work on the creative, technological and managerial
sides of the media industry. Graduates are qualified for a wide
range of positions such as TV producers, technical directors, cinematographers, sound designers, scriptwriters, studio managers, executive
producers, programming managers, creative directors, sales
representatives, scheduling and programming executives,
e-marketing professionals and entrepreneurs in the creative
industry.

Portfolio Submission
To facilitate the assessment of applications,
direct applicants are highly recommended to submit a portfolio and/or a
self-introduction letter to the School of Creative Media (SCM).
Direct applicants can submit their portfolio/letter in advance
(please refer to SCM's website for the latest submission
deadline). Portfolio materials may include
still photography, paintings/drawings, sculpture, musical
compositions/performances, films/videos, software, multi-media
productions, academic or creative writing, or other forms of
imaginative activity.
