Background:
Interested in the cultural process of consumer appropriation and audience reception, Hong Kong studies, research methodology, and feminist media studies. The most impressive film for Choi is The Mystery of Max Museum, which brought her a high fever after watching it with her mom. When she was only six. As a result, the doc ordered her mom not to let her watch horror films anymore. Of course her mom did not obey such idiotic command. While doing her M.Phil., she worked as Assistant Editor for three editions of the Hong Kong International Film Festival ('97-'99). Before joining City University, she worked as Senior Research Assistant for the MUSE (Multi-Media Socio-Cultural Education) Project presented by General Education Unit, HKU.
