Background:
David graduated from University of California, at Berkeley in 1993 with a BA degree in Mass Communications and Film. For the next four years, David worked as Producer at TVB (USA) with credits such as the New Talents Singing contest. He was also a Freelance TV Commercial Director/ Producer with clients such as Mazola Corn Oil, Cathy Bank etc. In 1996, he received his MFA degree from The School of Film and Television of The University of Southern California. His main interest is in scriptwriting and directing.
After returning to Hong Kong in 1997, he joined The Film Workshop as the Creative Assistant of renowned Director Tsui Hark and Producer Nansun Shi. During the next two years period, David was involved in a number of film projects. He also continued to be Freelance Cameraman/ Producer/ Director/ Editor of TV documentaries. Since 2000, David has been creative consultant for Director Hou Hsiao-Hsien's SinoMovie.com and now the Taiwan-based cartoon website tvbean.com.
His recent works include directing/ editing a promotional documentary for The Hong Kong Heritage Museum and RTHK prime-time TV drama entitled "Chung's Old Amah". He has recently completed a feature length comedy screenplay tentatively called "Oh Karen" for renowned Director Ann Hui. |
