Background:

Bryan Chung, this is my name. Shall we start in the last century? In 1985, I graduated in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. That led to a job in the government and then in the IBM Hong Kong Limited. Another ten years or more, I left Hong Kong, maybe just for a while. I went to London. In the London College of Printing, I studied a master degree programme in interactive multimedia. That is a design college. Afterwards, I started working on media arts and design projects. At the same time, I teach in various universities and technical college. Now I am here.

Oct 2002 Multimedia Art Asia Pacific, Beijing.
The CD-ROM project Y2K and the Millennium Butterflies was selected to display in the programme in main exhibition in Beijing.

Mar 2002 Kwangju Biennale, Kwangju, Korea.
I joined the trip with Videotage, Hong Kong to present my latest internet installation work, ¡§Love Takes the Victoria Peak¡¨.

Feb 2002 Hong Kong Arts Biennale, Hong Kong.
The CD-ROM Human Being and Moving Images by Hung Keung and multimedia works by me was exhibited as one of the award winner by the Hong Kong Museum of Arts.

Mar 2001 DigitalNow 2001, Hong Kong.
The CD-ROM Human Being and Moving Images by Hung Keung and multimedia works by me was exhibited as part of the festival organized by the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Jan 2001 Stuttgarter Filmwinter, Festival for Expanded Media, Stuttgart, Germany.
The CD-ROM pieces PoorTech and Human Being and Moving Images (Hung Keung) were selected to show in the festival.

Oct 2000

Heritage Museum Opening Exhibition.
It was a collaboration work with Mr. Hung Keung to provide a piece of interactive digital art installation for the opening of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Shatin in the year of 2000.


Sep 2000 World Wide Video Festival, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
It is an annual international screening of video and new media artworks selected from the world in Amsterdam. The CD-ROM piece PoorTech was showed in this year¡¦s festival.

Jan 2000 Microwave 2000, Hong Kong.
It was an interactive CD-ROM exhibition featuring selected CD-ROMS produced recently in various parts of the world. My production, the Y2K and the Millennium Butterflies is one of the Hong Kong works.

Oct 1999 Festival Now, Hong Kong.
I was commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Centre to develop a multimedia CD-ROM (Poor Tech), on the topic of Hong Kong economy and information technology, which was exhibited in Oct. 1999 and to be published in late Dec. 1999. It was the first piece of media art produced locally in this medium.
